PURPOSE
AND
MISSION OF
THE
CHRISTIAN DEBUTANTES
The purpose of the Christian Debutante Program is to prepare young
ladies for presentation to Christian Society. This will be
achieved through workshops and activities designed to allow them to
demonstrate newly learned skills and to display their talents and
accomplishments. The goal is to elevate and motivate them to a
life of holiness to fulfill God’s purpose and plan for their lives, to
walk by the Word, and to enjoy the journey as they pursue it.
The Christian Debutante Program at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church
of Southfield, Michigan, is a “program component” of the Youth
Ministry. It was implemented in 2002, under the pastorate of Rev.
David L. Roberson.
The Debutante program designers believed that
though home and spiritual training,
scholastic
experiences, and faith nurturing
within the Church;
young women will be able to face
challenges that life
has to offer and will be motivated to
transform
problems into possibilities.
Through Bible based teachings,
Debutantes will be taught what God’s requirements are. This is
achieved via Bible-concentrated workshops and activities. As the
young ladies enter into womanhood, the Debutantes learn what God
demands are regarding morality, integrity, responsibility, obedience,
grace, and mercy. After studying God’s Word, topics related to
Etiquette, Social Awareness, Professional Image, Public Speaking,
College Preparation and Career Planning are presented and taught by
persons with great skill, assured competence, knowledge and experience
in these subject areas. The workshops are designed to help the
Debutantes demonstrate newly learned skills and to display them as
they enter into womanhood.

Application Requirements:

Must be at least a junior in high
school

Completed application form
-
A copy of your final report card
the most recently completed grade
-
An application fee of $300 or a
nonrefundable deposit of $150 must accompany your application.
Payment must be in the form of a money order or a certified check,
payable to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Indicate “Christian
Debutantes” in the memo section of the check or money order.
(Debutantes will be provided with assistance for Patrons in order to
defray some of the cost.)
